Bill Doyle Biography

Bill Doyle has devoted his professional life to introducing cutting-edge medical technology to doctors and patients. NovoCure's initial indication, recurrent Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), the most deadly form of brain cancer, was recently approved by the FDA. Bill is now focused on making NovoCure's ground-breaking medicine available to GBM patients all around the world, as well as undertaking the further clinical trials required to solidify NovoCure's position in the cancer arsenal. Bill is the managing partner of WFD Ventures, a medical device startup business he co-founded in 2002. WFD Ventures invests in medical device startups that have the potential to have a significant effect on patient care by providing funding and business development experience. WFD's founders have considerable expertise in commercializing medical technology, and they collaborate with entrepreneurs, physicians, and scientists to enhance medical outcomes and realize the full potential of their inventions. Bill was formerly a member of Johnson & Johnson's Medical Devices and Diagnostics Group Operating Committee, where he was responsible for licensing, acquisitions, and strategy. J&J acquired numerous key brands during his tenure, including DePuy Orthopedics, Cordis, and BioSense-Webster. Bill was also Chairman of Johnson & Johnson's Medical Devices Research and Development Council, President of Biosense-Webster Worldwide, and a member of the Cordis Corporation and Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation (J&J's venture capital affiliate) boards of directors. Bill is a Harvard Business School and MIT graduate. He is a member of the Harvard Business School Dean's Advisory Board, the Harvard Business School Healthcare Advisory Board, and the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation's Board of Advisors. For FIRST Robotics Competition competitors accepted to MIT, Bill established the MIT FIRST Scholarship.
